OKJ CONCEPT: MORE THAN 1,000 LABELLING MACHINES INSTALLED IN FRANCE AND INTERNATIONALLY

OKJ Concept is a French manufacturer of custom-built automatic industrial labelling machines, founded in 2010 in Burgundy, France. The company has installed more than 1,000 machines in France and internationally, serving wineries, breweries, distilleries, beverage producers, food processing companies and many other industries. OKJ Concept also manufactures its own patented automatic bottle waxing machine and crown capping machine, and provides on-site labelling and waxing services directly at customers’ premises.

This article tells the story of how OKJ Concept was founded, how the company has grown, and what we believe makes a difference in the field.

How OKJ Concept was founded

OKJ Concept was founded in 2010 by Olivier Jobard, with a simple belief: a labelling machine should adapt to the customer’s production line, not the other way around.

From the outset, the company chose to design and assemble its machines in-house in Burgundy, France. Each labelling machine is developed as a project in its own right, according to the bottle shape, production speed, number of labels to apply and production environment. This approach, adopted for the very first machine, remains unchanged today.

From the first machine to more than 1,000 installations

Since 2010, OKJ Concept has grown step by step, driven by the trust of its customers. Today, the company has a team of seven employees and more than 1,000 labelling machines installed in France and internationally.

A few key figures sum up this journey:

  • More than 15 years of experience in the design and manufacture of labelling machines

  • More than 1,000 machines installed at professional customers’ premises

  • 185 five-star reviews from our customers

  • 100% French manufacturing, from design through to assembly

These figures are not an end in themselves. Above all, they reflect long-term relationships: many customers return to upgrade their machines, add a labelling station or equip a new production line.

Machines installed in several countries

OKJ Concept labelling machines are not only used in Burgundy. Our machines are installed throughout mainland France and its overseas territories, including Guadeloupe, New Caledonia, Tahiti and Saint Pierre and Miquelon, as well as internationally, notably in Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Slovakia and Finland.

Having machines operating in different parts of the world has taught us to address a wide range of requirements: local standards, specific bottle formats and different production conditions. Our after-sales service and telephone troubleshooting support remain available wherever a machine is located.

One area of expertise serving very different industries

Labelling a champagne bottle, a jar of honey, a beer keg or an industrial container requires a different approach in each case. This is where custom engineering makes the difference: OKJ Concept adapts its machines to the specific requirements of each industry.

OKJ Concept labelling machines are currently used in the following sectors:

  • Wine, for wineries, winegrowers and producers, with labelling and bottle waxing solutions. Our customers include Domaine Trapet, Clos de Tart and Domaine Comte Liger-Belair → Labelling and bottle waxing for wine

  • Champagne, Crémant and sparkling wines, with solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of their bottles. Our customers include Jacques Selosse → Labelling for champagne

  • Beer, from craft breweries to larger operations, with labelling and capping solutions. Our customers include Popihn, Demory Paris and Lou Brewery → Labelling for breweries

  • Spirits and alcoholic beverages, for distilleries and liqueur producers. Our customers include Maison Cartron, Edmond Briottet and Michel Couvreur → Labelling for spirits and alcoholic beverages

  • Fermented and non-alcoholic beverages, such as kombucha and kefir. Our customers include Lokki Kombucha → Labelling for fermented beverages

  • Food processing, for pots, jars and canned products, including honey, jams and yoghurt → Labelling for food products

  • Industry, for drums, buckets, bottles and technical containers → Labelling for industrial containers

This diversity strengthens our expertise: a solution developed for one industry can often benefit another, and our customers benefit from this accumulated know-how.

Labelling machines: from 1 to 6 labelling stations

Automatic pressure-sensitive labelling machines remain at the heart of OKJ Concept’s business. The MILA and MEDIUM ranges can apply between 1 and 6 labels to the same bottle, including front labels, back labels, neck labels, strip labels and other specific formats.

Each machine is configured to meet the customer’s requirements and allow quick changeovers between bottle formats, for example from 33 cl to 75 cl. Depending on the configuration, production speeds can reach up to 3,000 bottles per hour.

Our labelling machines can also incorporate capsule dispensers and capping units directly into the same machine. These can handle wine capsules, champagne foils, heat-shrink capsules for rum and other spirits, for example. Labelling and neck finishing can therefore be completed in a single pass.

Beyond labelling: bottle waxing, capping and complementary machines

Over time, OKJ Concept has expanded its range to support customers with all aspects of bottle finishing.

A patented automatic bottle waxing machine. OKJ Concept designs and manufactures its own bottle waxing machine for wine bottles, the Wax 4.1. Unlike most bottle waxing machines on the market, which coat the entire neck, it applies a thin layer of wax to the top of the cork. This helps limit oxygen ingress, protects the cork, enhances the bottle’s appearance and can act as a deterrent to counterfeiting. The machine can be integrated into a bottling line and processes up to 2,500 bottles per hour. It also offers an alternative to traditional capsules. Customers include Domaine d’Ardhuy and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. → Discover our automatic bottle waxing machine

A crown capping machine. Unlike the capsule dispensers that can be integrated into our labelling machines, the Mila Caps is a dedicated machine for applying and sealing crown caps on 33 cl and 75 cl bottles, at a speed of approximately 900 to 1,000 bottles per hour. It is suitable for beer, kombucha, lemonade and soft drinks. It can be combined with a labelling machine or purchased separately for integration into an existing production line. → Discover our crown capping machine

Complementary machines. To meet the needs of an entire packaging line, OKJ Concept also distributes washing and drying machines, case sealers and stretch-wrapping machines. This means customers can work with a single point of contact for the equipment required across their entire line.

On-site labelling and bottle waxing: services without the need to invest in machinery

Not every business needs to purchase a machine. For occasional production runs, seasonal peaks or businesses whose needs do not yet justify an investment, OKJ Concept provides labelling and bottle waxing services directly at the customer’s premises throughout France.

  • On-site labelling: up to 3,000 bottles per hour, with configurations offering up to 6 stations, including front labels, back labels, neck labels, strip labels, Marianne tax stamps, capsules and capping.

  • On-site bottle waxing: up to 2,500 bottles per hour, with the option of a customised stamp or a CRD tax capsule applied to the wax.

These services are designed for wineries, breweries, distilleries and beverage producers. They are also an excellent way to experience our expertise before considering the purchase of a machine.

What makes the difference: a manufacturer, not an intermediary

Choosing OKJ Concept means dealing directly with the company that designs and manufactures your machine. There is no chain of intermediaries between the customer and the people who design and assemble the equipment.

In practical terms, this means:

  • Custom-designed machines tailored to each bottle and production line

  • 100% French manufacturing, with full control over the process from design to assembly

  • After-sales service and telephone troubleshooting available 24/7

  • Comprehensive support: design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning training

  • Average manufacturing lead times of 3 to 6 months, depending on the project

This close relationship with our customers also explains why major wineries, craft breweries, distilleries and fermented beverage producers have trusted us for years.

Where to meet us

OKJ Concept regularly meets industry professionals at trade shows. We will notably be exhibiting at VINÉQUIP in Mâcon on 23, 24 and 25 March 2027, and at the Salon du Brasseur on 1 and 2 April 2027. These are excellent opportunities to see our machines in operation and speak directly with our team.

Thank you to our customers — and on to 2,000 machines

Reaching more than 1,000 installed machines is above all the result of the trust our customers have placed in us. Winegrowers, brewers, distillers, producers and industrial companies have each chosen to work with us, sometimes for their very first machine, and we would like to thank them all.

That trust drives us forward. It took more than 15 years to install our first 1,000 machines. Our ambition is to reach 2,000 even faster, while continuing to do what has brought us this far: listening to our customers, designing tailored solutions and remaining available long after the sale.

Looking for a labelling, bottle waxing or capping solution?

Whether you need a machine or a one-off service, our team will help you identify the solution best suited to your production requirements.
