BEER BOTTLE LABELLING AND CAPPING MACHINES

Gamme de bières et boissons brassicoles étiquetées par étiqueteuse OKJ

Beer bottle labelling plays an essential role in product identification, presenting different recipes and strengthening brand identity. For craft breweries, microbreweries and beer producers, choosing packaging equipment depends on bottle formats, the number of labels to apply and the required production speed.

OKJ Concept designs and manufactures self-adhesive labelling machines in France for professionals in the beverage and food industries. The company also offers an automatic capping machine for crimping crown caps onto bottles.

With its MILA and MEDIUM labelling machine ranges and the Mila Caps capping machine, OKJ Concept enables breweries to explore different solutions for automating several stages of their packaging process, according to their needs and production setup.

Beer bottle labelling: available options

Labelling requirements vary according to the type of beer, packaging format and desired presentation. A bottle may feature a front label, a back label or several identification elements.

OKJ Concept labelling machines can be configured for different applications:

  • Front label: applying the main label to the front of the bottle.

  • Back label: applying a label to the back of the bottle to display additional information.

  • Neck label: applying a label around the neck, depending on the bottle geometry and selected configuration.

  • Strip label: applying a paper strip or a specific label, depending on the process and requirements.

  • Multi-station configurations: combining several labelling stations to perform different applications on the same line.

The available options depend on the model, bottle dimensions and shape, as well as label specifications. A technical assessment helps determine the most suitable configuration for the production process.

Automatic beer bottle capping machine: the Mila Caps

Capping is an important stage in packaging beer in bottles designed for crown caps. To automate this operation, OKJ Concept offers the Mila Caps, an automatic capping machine designed to crimp crown caps onto 330 ml and 750 ml bottles.

Equipped with a motorised stainless-steel conveyor, a pneumatic capping system and a bottle centring mechanism, it positions bottles and provides consistent cap crimping. Its colour touchscreen makes everyday operation easier.

The Mila Caps features a loading chute that holds approximately 30 crown caps and an automatic stop system when caps run out. Its stated production speed is approximately 900 to 1,000 bottles per hour, depending on operating conditions.

A standalone capping machine or a solution for your packaging line

The Mila Caps can operate independently, without being connected to a labelling machine. This makes it possible for breweries that already have packaging equipment to automate only the capping stage.

Depending on the production setup and equipment compatibility, the capping machine can also be considered as part of a packaging line that includes a labelling machine and other equipment. The right configuration depends on the required production speed, available space and sequence of operations.

The aim is to streamline bottle packaging while adapting the equipment to each brewery's technical constraints and production volumes.

  • Bottle format: height, diameter and geometry influence how bottles are held and positioned during labelling.

  • Number of labels: a single front label or several labels positioned on the bottle.

  • Label type: dimensions, shape, material and adhesive properties.

  • Production speed: the target output must be assessed according to the operations involved and the machine configuration.

  • Brewery layout: available space, bottle feeding and integration into the packaging process.

For capping, the bottle format, type of crown caps used and required production speed must also be considered. The Mila Caps is designed for 330 ml and 750 ml bottles; compatibility must be checked for other formats.

OKJ Concept's MILA and MEDIUM labelling machines

OKJ Concept offers the MILA and MEDIUM ranges to meet a variety of labelling requirements.

The machines can be configured according to the intended applications, the number of stations required and production constraints. Depending on the project, a technical assessment can verify compatibility with the beer bottles and labels being used.

OKJ Concept labelling machines can reach a stated maximum output of 3,000 bottles per hour, depending on the configuration and operating conditions. The actual achievable speed depends in particular on the bottle format, number of labels and operations involved.

French manufacturing and technical support

Based in France, OKJ Concept supports professionals in choosing their packaging equipment. Each project can be assessed according to the brewery's needs, technical constraints and production targets.

Support includes defining the equipment configuration, delivery, on-site installation and training, as well as after-sales service.
